Despite its name, Azzurro Dino, it may not. The metallic blue shade is a historic Ferrari color called Azzurro Hyperion, which has been used by the carmaker, since the 1960s. The Azzurro Hyperion dates back to the 1960s when it was offered on the 365 Grand Tourer and the entry-level Dino.

It is also featured in modern cars like the Ferrari 812, California, and even the 360. It was also the signature color of the Ferrari Dino 246 GT, a mid-engine sports car named after Enzo Ferrari's late son. Paying homage to this model, Ferrari presented the 296 GTS Assetto Fiorano in a dual-tone of Azzurro La Plata and Azzurro Dino at the 2024 Miami F1 Grand Prix, celebrating the brand's 70.

Azzurro Dino was historically adopted by legendary Ferrari drivers such as Clay Regazzoni on their racing overalls, and five decades ago was a signature colour for the Dino 246.
