The Train of Many Colors running in service on the 7 train bypassing 40th Street-Lowery Street station, with R33S 9306 leading, taken in April 2008. The Train of Many Colors (sometimes abbreviated as TOMC) is one of the New York Transit Museum 's nostalgia trains used for A Division excursions, which is made up of cars that were formerly used on Interborough Rapid Transit Company (IRT) lines. The Train of Many Colors includes a selection of cars manufactured in the 1960s: the R-33, R-33WF and R-36 cars.

With "Tartar Red" and "Gunn Red" redbirds, Kale Green "Green Machines", blue-and-silver "Platinum Mist" and the striking two-tone robin's egg blue and cream "Bluebird" paint schemes, the festive Holiday Nostalgia Train. While some vintage cars are air-conditioned, many are not. Your safety is important to us! Please walk carefully on platforms and stay behind the yellow line.

The first car of the train is a magical place for everyone. Here's a video of the Nostalgia Train Of Many Colors at various stations on the Flushing Line at 5th Avenue-Bryant Park, 34th Street-Hudson Yards, 111th Street, 103rd Street. The Train of Many Colors will be operating on the 1 line, making all local stops between the Chambers St and 137th St - City College St stations.

The rides will be available from 10 AM to 5:30 PM. Bluebird and Redbird Cars on the Train of Many Colors. The R33's were subway cars that served in the NYC Subway system from 1962-2003 and was the first A Division (Numbered Lines) set of train cars to be retrofitted with air conditioning.

The cars were painted different colors at numerous points during their time in service. Nostalgia Train of Many Colors Rides Again Alight for delight: after a pandemic break, the 2022 iteration of the New York Transit Museum's annual Nostalgia Train is back on Sundays in December. After a 2-year hiatus, MTA New York City Transit continues its annual tradition of Holiday Nostalgia Rides on the New York Transit Museum's vintage fleet.

In honor of the exhibit Reign of the Redbirds, the Holiday Nostalgia Train will feature the Train of Many Colors and travel along a new route this year! The Train of Many Colors running in service on the 7 train bypassing 40th Street-Lowery Street station, with R33S 9306 leading, taken in April 2008. During the 2004 Subway Centennial, some of the cars were used for regular service on the 42nd Street Shuttle route.
