Power and Connectivity
The Dio AF16 boasts an impressive power output of 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms, rising to 225 watts per channel into 4 ohms. This means it can drive even the most demanding speakers with ease, delivering room-filling sound without breaking a sweat.
Connectivity-wise, the AF16 is equipped with five line-level inputs, including a dedicated phono stage for turntables. It also features a preamp output for connecting to a separate power amplifier or active speakers. The inclusion of a 12V trigger input and output allows for seamless integration with other home theater components.
Preamp Section
The Dio AF16's preamp section is a testament to the brand's commitment to high fidelity. It features a low-noise, high-gain design that ensures even the most subtle details in your music are preserved. The preamp also includes a home theater bypass mode, allowing the AF16 to function as a power amplifier in a multi-channel system.
One standout feature of the preamp section is its built-in room correction system. This advanced technology analyzes your room's acoustics and adjusts the amplifier's output to compensate for any resonances or reflections, ensuring optimal sound reproduction in your unique listening environment.
Protection and Safety Features
The Dio AF16 is packed with safety features to protect your investment and ensure longevity. It includes short-circuit, overcurrent, and overvoltage protection, as well as a thermal shutdown system to prevent overheating. The amplifier also features a soft-start circuit that gradually increases the power output to prolong the life of your speakers.
In addition to these protection measures, the AF16 also includes a highly visible front panel display that shows the amplifier's status, input selection, and any fault conditions. This user-friendly interface makes it easy to monitor and control the amplifier, ensuring peace of mind during operation.

One of the standout aspects of the AF16's performance is its ability to maintain composure under high volumes. Even at reference levels, the amplifier remains composed and controlled, delivering tight, articulate bass and clear, undistorted midrange and treble. This makes the AF16 an excellent choice for both critical listening and late-night partying.
Speaker Matching
The Dio AF16's versatility extends to its ability to match with a wide range of speakers. Its high power output and low impedance make it an ideal choice for both efficient, high-sensitivity speakers and more demanding, low-sensitivity models. The amplifier's adjustable gain settings also allow for fine-tuning to ensure optimal performance with your specific speakers.
