In January 2026 Oxford retired eight of its own tests (AHCAAT, BMSAT, CAT, MAT, MLAT, PAT, PhilAT and TSA). From 2027 entry the landscape is streamlined to five tests, all delivered online at Pearson VUE centres: the TMUA (mathematical courses), TARA (Oxford and UCL reasoning courses), ESAT (engineering and sciences across Oxbridge, UCL and Imperial), the LNAT (law) and the UCAT (medicine and dentistry). Oxford and Cambridge medicine now use the UCAT following the discontinuation of the BMAT. Some Oxbridge courses still use separate college-registered or subject assessments not covered here, so always check the official course page.
