For 2013 Hyundai Veloster owners chasing a sharper driving experience, the turbo muffler delete is a popular modification that delivers both performance gains and a distinctive exhaust note. Removing the stock muffler reduces backpressure, allowing the turbocharged engine to breathe more freely, which translates into improved throttle response and acceleration—especially under steady power delivery. Beyond performance, the custom muffler delete opens the door to personalizing your Veloster’s exhaust sound, turning a standard sedan into a more spirited machine. This modification appeals to performance tuning enthusiasts who value both functionality and character, making it a go-to project for those wanting to elevate their 2013 Hyundai Veloster without compromising reliability. While installation requires careful attention to exhaust sealing and mounting to maintain safety and noise compliance, the results—enhanced power, a deeper growl, and a unique identity—make the turbo muffler delete a worthwhile upgrade for dedicated drivers.

I really like the sound you guys are getting with the delete. I have talked to a local muffler shop and got a decent price quote for a custom exhaust from cat back. He suggested a muffler in place of the resonator and straight pipe the rest of the way, using either a turbo muffler or glasspack.

So if you take this project on in sections by doing the muffler delete first, if it's too loud then just replace the resonator with a magnaflow muffler (see part #10426) and you'll essentially have the same thing for hundreds less. Hey guys I had my exhaust made into straight pipe from the cat today. Heres a video if anyone was curious on how a stock VT sounds with this setup.

You should check out quite a few more video's of the muffler deletes at this thread here Exhaust Sound clips. Also, just doin the muffler delete is way cheaper than deleting the resonator too and adding in a magnaflow.

I had the muffler removed and a 2 1/2 pipe made by a performance shop and it sounded ok at idle however, once you get under load its very loud and very raspy IMHO.Im going back tmo to get a cat back system made(probably 3inch) with a new muffler and mate it to the pipe we made yesterday. Hey! So, I've heard the VT without a muffler in some videos and sound clips and it sounds amazing. I'm considering getting a muffler delete and a turn down welded on, or replacing the muffler with one of those cool cherry bomb ones. Is there anything new I should expect after this is done.
