My tester for the week was the Crown Nightshade Edition in "Storm Cloud" blue paint. Essentially a higher-spec version of the base Limited trim, the Nightshade's dark accents and 21-inch wheels still garnered some praise - my wife said "This is a nice car!" which is about as glowing a review as she's willing to deliver. A new Nightshade Edition joins the lineup, built off the Limited grade.
It features dark badging, black door handles, and 21-inch 10-spoke wheels with a matte-black finish, available in Storm. 2025 Crown Nightshade Features The main selling point of the Nightshade above the Premium trim comes down to two main selling points: the exclusive Storm Cloud paint (though it does come in black as well) and the 21-inch 10-spoke rims. Toyota fits rims this size as an option on the Limited as well, though without the signature Nightshade look.

The 2025 Toyota Crown Nightshade starts just under $50,000 with delivery - about $7,000 more than the XLE and three more than the Limited it's based on.

The colors on the Nighshade are limited to "Storm Cloud," like our tester, or Black.
The tall wheel arches give the Crown a bit of an off-road look, even if the wheels and tires do not. For the model year 2025, the automaker brings a new grade, the Nightshade, available in Storm Cloud and Black, continuing the dark theme of the special edition.
