It is available with different transmission options, including manual, automatic, and dual. The Hyundai Bayon uses a 1.0-litre petrol unit with 99bhp that previously had a mild-hybrid system to boost performance and fuel efficiency, but that's been removed as part of the facelift.
Test Drive of the Hyundai Bayon 2024 On the dynamic front, the notable difference we observed relates to efficiency, as the 48-volt mild hybrid system allows for slightly lower fuel consumption. During our test drive, we found the engine remarkably economical, with consumption not exceeding 6.2 l/100 km. From 2024, Hyundai dropped the more powerful 120PS engine and the mild-hybrid system, meaning the only engine option is a 100PS 1.0-litre engine producing 172Nm torque with a six-speed manual gearbox and 200Nm with the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, and no electrical assistance.
