This guide cuts through the noise. What Drive Connect does. What it doesn't.
How it stacks up to CarPlay and Android Auto. Who should pay and who shouldn't. Let's get into it.
1. What Toyota Drive Connect actually brings to the table Think Drive Connect is just pricey navigation? You're not wrong, but that's only part of the story. Toyota is rolling out subscription services that unlock certain capabilities for its vehicles.
Multiple automakers are making moves to leave Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in the past. On a typical drive we listen to Sirius XM and my wife uses Apple Carplay from her phone for Navigation. If we're both in the vehicle I usually drive and if she brings up anything on her phone with sound (like a video from Facebook or another app) it automatically switches to the audio from her phone.

Carplay Nav Pros: Free Gets Apple watch haptic notifications for turns (if using apple maps). With Apple CarPlay and I am assuming also Android you have a multitude of choices for the maps and navigation you want to use. On Apple CarPlay the map apps are Google Maps, Waze, and of course Apple Maps for starters.
Just look at the App store for your phone be it Apple or Android and pick the best one for you. What Exactly Is Toyota Drive Connect?
