Up to now, I have stripped the stairs & bannister of old paint, removed tacks and nails. I will be going over each step with wood filler, and sanding down the risers, treads and skirting boards in preparation for painting. My question is what paint is advised for use on bare stair wood? Tbh, stair treads are often best painted or stained to stand out from floors and walls as a visual clue to help you find your footing.
