Paulding Village Council met in Regular Session on March 5, 2018, at 6:30 p.m. in Council Chambers at the Municipal Building. Mayor Greg Reinhart called the meeting to order.
Finance Director Annette Hasch called roll with the following members present: Randy Daeger, Ryan Mapes, Barb Rife, David Burtch, Tim Boss and Dan Workman. Administrator Robert Fisher was also present, as was Solicitor Rachel L. Jones.
Dan Workman motioned to approve the minutes of the February 20th Council meeting, seconded by Dave Burtch. Vote: all yea.
Rose Foltz came to the meeting asking if we could put two deaf child signs on her street. She lives on Dix Street. The consensus of council is to get them ordered.
Tim Boss reported on the Recreational Committee meeting held on February 22, 2018. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the softball league forming at Reservoir Park. There appears to be enough interest for 8-10 teams playing two nights per week on two fields. The committee also discussed installing 25’ high netting to run parallel to the first base line and angle our a short distance from the top of the backstop.
Ordinance No. 1544-18 re: An Ordinance Repealing Section 90.10, T, of Zoning Ordinance No. 656-70, Section 90.10, T, of the Village of Paulding was read for the third time. Barb Rife motioned to table Ordinance No. 1544-18, seconded by David Burtch. Vote: all yea.
Robert Fisher presented the Administrator’s Agenda. The agenda consisted of the following:
Mayor Greg Reinhart relayed that the EMS report February 2018 is in the Council packet.
Solicitor, Rachel Jones reported that we closed on the “Old Utility Building” on
February 23, 2018. Also, she noted that the bank released the mortgage on the property located at 221 Coupland Street. This property is on the list of demo properties that the Paulding County Land Bank was working on.
Randy Daeger would like to see our Street Department be more proactive on getting out “High Water” signs.
Dave Burtch mentioned that there will be a Downtown Revitalization Main Street meeting at Paulding-Putnam on March 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m.
Randy Daeger motioned to pay the bills, seconded by Ryan Mapes. Vote: all yea.
Randy Daeger motioned for Council to move into Executive Session to consider the employment of a public employee, seconded by Ryan Mapes. Vote: all yea.
Barb Rife motioned for Council to move into Regular Session, seconded by Randy Daeger. Vote: all yea.
The following meetings were scheduled:
· Salary & Allowance Committee meeting—March 6, 2018 @ 5:00 p.m.
· Ordinance Committee meeting—Wednesday, March 7, 2018 @ 4:30 p.m.
· Buildings & Grounds Committee meeting—Wednesday March 7, 2018 @ 5:00 p.m.
· Recreation Committee meeting—Wednesday, March 21, 2018 @ 5:00 p.m.
