Rich Chorné, a Ruidoso musician turned recording artist and producer brings home New Mexico’s Best Blues Album Award at a ceremony hosted by the New Mexico Music Awards on May 7th in Albuquerque. The kudos is shared with Montrose Records owner Richard Cagle who also sang on the album. “This honor is an acknowledgment that this little Ruidoso neighborhood harbors top musical talent and can produce music at the highest levels. I’m proud to bring this honor home,” Chorné states.
Rich Chorné a native of El Paso, and UTEP graduate has been a regular performer around Ruidoso and El Paso. He has a history of touring and living in the East Coast where he produced his first 4 albums. He retired in Ruidoso and was inspired to continue writing and recording when he met Richard Cagle. “It’s been a remarkable ride, and I’m grateful for all the opportunities a gifts that have come my way” Chorné reflects.
The album features three vocalists besides Chorné; Richard Cagle, Kathy Lyon, and Tommy Lepson. Chorné penned nine of the twelve songs. Some songs are close to Rich's life experience such as \"You Gotta Have Faith,\" a song about his father's advice, and \"Bordertown Blues,\" a song about El Paso. \"Walkin' With My Baby,\" sung by Richard Cagle, was nominated for Best Blues Song. Rich looks forward to supporting this album with live performances.
Rich has just received the prestigious New Mexico Best Blues Album Award for 2022.

Rich is a performing artist from solo to full bands. He is a songwriter, producer, band leader, and recording engineer.
He grew up and played in El Paso, graduated from UTEP, toured in the 70’s, worked for Sony in New York, New Jersey, and Maryland and landed in Southern New Mexico in the mountains of Ruidoso. He is an accomplished musician and songwriter/flautist/guitarist. His songwriting has won awards from the Songwriter’s Association of Washington and was a ranking member of the Washington Area Music Association. He's a registered BMI artist and has shared the stage with many notable artists including Daryl Davis, Johnny Johnson, Tommy Lepson, and the Jay Adams Band touring with ZZ Top. His technical skills won him roadie gigs with Daryl Hall and John Oates and sound engineering gigs with Broadway shows in New York City. He also played with El Paso Blues Legend Long John Hunter, and in Maryland, he had the pleasure of opening for Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Jerry Lee Lewis, Double Trouble, Earth, Wind and Fire and many more.
Rich has produced six CD's of his own and helped other artists with their CD’s. His latest album, Bringin’ In the Blues, was co-produced with vocalist and producer Richard Cagle on the Montrose Records label. His albums have been played worldwide at over 400 radio stations. He also collaborates and co-produces for with his long-time friend and well-known vocalist and songwriter Kathy Lyon.
He is very fortunate to be on a call list of regionally renowned musicians including Frank Zona and Urban Edge from El Paso, and Michael Francis, jazz pianist and promoter. He also leads his own local group. He has played many New Mexico events such as the Cowboy Symposium and the Roswell Jazz Festival and has a history of performing at major events in the Mid-Atlantic including Baltimore’s Artscape and the Chesapeake Blues festival. His music is available on iTunes, Pandora, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon, Spotify, and other sites, and his own site. Rich also enjoys an amazing history working and touring for Hall and Oats and ZZ Top.
Rich excels at collaborating and performing with different talent in the Southwest and also enjoys playing solo. He can be seen at local venues around Ruidoso and El Paso. Needless to say, this keeps him very busy. He still has fun and the journey never gets old.

Rich Chornes \"MAS\" Blues Album Scores 175+ Radio Stations In First 30 Days
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Somebody needs to tell this senior that us older folks are supposed to just lay down and die but no not Chorné. Oh no it's like there may be some snow on the roof but the furnace isn't out yet! Over 175 stations have spun \"MAS\" since it was first shipped to radio last month. Hard to beat that with a stick! The two Rich's, Chorné and Cagle, teamed to bring together an ace of a sound. Then you add the talents of all the veterans in the band with those in front of the mic and you got something humming.
