Along these lines, it’s noteworthy that Iran’s newly elected supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei (born September 8, 1969), was born with a powerfully placed Mars at 22º Sagittarius. Natally, it’s empowered by a square to Pluto, telling us that Iran’s current regime will not surrender and will do whatever is necessary to overcome the US invasion. His Mars is closely opposite the US Mars, which readily describes his targeted hostility.
The confusing and contradictory reasons given for Trump’s war on Iran coincide with Mercury’s retrograde cycle. The first wave of bombs struck on February 28, killing Mojtaba Khamenei’s father, wife, son and other close relatives. This was just as Mercury turned retrograde at 22º Pisces — right on Mojtaba’s Mars and exactly squaring Trump’s Sun at 22º Gemini (which in turn conjoins the US Mars).
Mercury turns direct on March 20, the same day as the Spring Equinox. At that time, Mercury will be at 8º Pisces where it forms a supportive trine to the US Scorpio Ascendant. It will also be trine to Trump’s Mercury at 8º Cancer. Ideally, if he’s listening at all to the nation’s antiwar sentiment, he’ll feel it in his bones to end this Middle East conflict.
But most everyone is feeling a sense of woundedness these days. Whether it’s the overall economy, the end of major health care programs, soaring oil and gas prices, or the apparent end of the nation’s democratic norms, people are losing hope that their voices have any significance at all. And Trump himself is also looking wounded, both physically and psychologically.
All this goes along with the US progressed Moon and Chiron coming together in a conjunction at 18º Aries, a relatively rare event. The progressed Moon acts as a timer and Chiron, the “Wounded Healer,” makes our collective wounds apparent so we can take some action to overcome them. The health crisis (metaphysically and psychologically) is clear with this conjunction taking place in the US’s 6th house of health.
