Core Values
First Christian Church
Cassville, Missouri
Our purpose for existing is to glorify God so that all people will follow Jesus in loving service.
Our Core Values are:
*We value the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
We hold the Bible to be God’s infallible message to mankind. It gives us permission, guidance, and instruction.
Where it speaks, we will speak. Where it is silent, we are silent.
*We value prayer. Romans 12:12
Speaking to the Father is a high privilege.
Teach it, practice it, enjoy it!
*We value people. John 3:16
God loves all people, those of our culture, those foreign to us. He wants all to enjoy the blessing of a relationship with Him. “For God so loved the world…”
*We value a warm, family relationship. Romans 12:10
We seek to provide a warm, loving atmosphere where:
All are welcomed.
All are included: the lost and hurting, the rich and poor, married and single, any race or language background.
Outward appearance is always less important than one’s heart.
*We value change without compromise. I Corinthians 9:22
We earnestly intend to change what should be changed and protect what should not be changed.
Methods should change with the culture.
The sacred, revealed message must never change.
*We value growth.
The church is a live, dynamic body that must necessarily grow.
That growth is spiritual in nature. Colossians 2:19
That growth is numerical in nature. Acts 2:41 & Luke 14:23
*We value relevant, significant meetings. Acts 20:7 & Hebrews 10:24-25
Sunday assembly with reflection, praise, and anticipation
Small groups that meet vital needs
Singing, prayer, the Lord’s Supper, and fellowship. Acts 2:42

Plea and Purpose of
FIRST CHRISTIAN CHURCH
This congregation is identified with the great movement for the restoration of the New Testament Church. We are building according to the pattern given in the New Testament, with no additions, subtractions, or substitutions.
-By wearing a New Testament Name, “Christian.”
-By believing in the New Testament Creed, “Christ.”
-By obeying a New Testament Baptism, “Immersion” into Christ, for the forgiveness of sins, and the gift of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38).
-By obeying a New Testament Communion, the Lord’s Supper,
every Lord’s Day (Acts 20:7).
-By practicing New Testament Life,
“Abiding faithful in His teachings and commands.”
Our Plan… The restoration of the New Testament Church
Our Purpose… “That the world may believe” in answer to Christ’s prayer.
Our Motto… Christ, the only Head of His Church and the only
Lord of our lives.
We say not that we are “the only Christians, but that we are
Christians only.”
We speak where the Bible speaks and are silent where the Bible is silent.
You are welcome to attend and use your Bible to examine all teachings and practices.
No pressure is ever exerted upon anyone attending our services. Decisions must always come about by and individual’s own sincere belief and conviction.
In Essentials… UNITY
In Non-Essentials… LIBERTY
In ALL Things… LOVE
