Placement Informationg
Puppies leave our kennel at eight weeks old, with the following:
* Pre-paid AKC registration, Pre-paid AKC Reunite micro-chip, with the enrollment completed for you.
*A vacinnation and deworming schedule, detailed on your puppies weight chart.
*Instructions on that same weight chart as to when and what vaccinations your pup will need in the near future.
*A small bag of Acana dog food, the same feed your puppy will have been eating for about four weeks.
*A small travel crate that will fit inside any car--this is for the ride home, you will need to get a bigger crate !
*A new leash and collar for your puppy, eliminating the need to guess on the right size.
*Our health guarantee, pictures of the parents and copies of their health certifications.
*Detailed instructions on feeding and some tips to help you get started with our puppy.
All you will need are two stainless steel bowls, one for feeding and one for water, when you get home.
**Note that all puppies will leave on the weekend closest to them being 8 weeks old, typically on a Saturday. Naturally, once a litter is whelped, I can determine the pick up date !
Planning:
On the \"Planned Litters\" page of this site, you can see exactly what litters are planned for the current year, sometimes into the early part of the following year. As the time gets closer for each litter, these posts will be amended to let you know if the breeding took place.
Remember, plans are subject to change !! Heat cycles are dependant upon Nature, not our calendar. Our breedings are based upon our kennel needs and pairings (sire & dam) do change sometimes.
Early Deposits:
Reservations on a litter are accepted early. However, the prospective owner must understand that we don't reserve early by gender or color !!! You are reserving a puppy, with color and gender to be determined.
1. When an early reservation is made, that family will let me know their preference on color and gender. Most of the time, those early preferences are met !
2. There is some discretion on personality: For example, I am not going to put a high energy pup with people
who are retired. I want to make the best fit for the happiest puppy and the happiest family.
3. I only accept four (4) early deposits on a litter.

Once the litter whelps, an announcement is made on the \"New Litters\" page, where the early information on the litter was posted.
This announcement is made within the first 4 days or so post-whelp. There will be pictures of the \"mom\" and her litter. These pictures will be updated ever few days for the first couple of weeks.
The information about how many pups and their gender will be listed with the pictures, along with which pup has which color collar. This way, everyone can follow along with the growth of each pup and when it is time to announce which pup is going where, each pup can be easily identified.
Whether there are any pups available or if they have all been reserved will also be posted.
When the pups are 4 weeks of age, pictures are posted of each pup individually, with a head and profile picture of each pup. This continues until the pups leave at 8 weeks old.
*Puppies are placed on Limited Registration-non breeding, with a spay/neuter contract.
*There is a $500 non-refundable deposit to reserve your puppy.
*As of July, 2026 our puppy placement cost will start at $3,000.00 (plus the deposit).
*The deposit policy also applies for older pups/dogs--In those cases, the deposit is typically higher, as the
placement cost for those Labs (older pups or young adults) is significantly higher.
**Age makes a big difference in placement cost; generally speaking, Labs over six years old, the lower the fee.
*There are no early visits to the kennel -- This is for the health and safety of the litter and why we post so
many pictures. There are NO exceptions to this policy. You can also see more about the kennel on our kennel
Facebook page.
*We reserve the right not to place a puppy with a family, for any reason.
* We DO NOT, under any circumstances, ship puppies.
When considering a puppy from one of our litters, please keep in mind that puppies are placed on AKC Limited Registration-your dog will be able to compete in any AKC or UKC event except Conformation Showing.
In addition, any puppies produced by that dog would not be AKC registerable.
If you would like to be considered for one of our pups, please contact us by email at: ripandgrace@gmail.com

Labrador Retriever Breed Standard
Sporting Group
General Appearance
The Labrador Retriever is a strongly built, medium-sized, short-coupled, dog possessing a sound, athletic, well-balanced conformation that enables it to function as a retrieving gun dog; the substance and soundness to hunt waterfowl or upland game for long hours under difficult conditions; the character and quality to win in the show ring; and the temperament to be a family companion.
Physical features and mental characteristics should denote a dog bred to perform as an efficient Retriever of game with a stable temperament suitable for a variety of pursuits beyond the hunting environment.
The most distinguishing characteristics of the Labrador Retriever are its short, dense, weather resistant coat; an \"otter\" tail; a clean-cut head with broad back skull and moderate stop; powerful jaws; and its \"kind,\" friendly eyes, expressing character, intelligence and good temperament.
Above all, a Labrador Retriever must be well balanced, enabling it to move in the show ring or work in the field with little or no effort. The typical Labrador possesses style and quality without over refinement, and substance without lumber or cloddiness. The Labrador is bred primarily as a working gun dog; structure and soundness are of great importance (emphasis mine).
Size, Proportion and Substance
Size--The height at the withers for a dog is 22½ to 24½ inches; for a bitch is 21½ to 23½ inches. Any variance greater than ½ inch above or below these heights is a disqualification. Approximate weight of dogs and bitches in working condition: dogs 65 to 80 pounds; bitches 55 to 70 pounds.
The minimum height ranges set forth in the paragraph above shall not apply to dogs or bitches under twelve months of age.
We ask that you please contact us through our email for any inquiries.
Thank you!!
All visits by appointment only ! Our kennel is also our home
and we appreciate your understanding.
