“But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Cor 2:9
“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.” Isaiah 64:4
We begin this study with this encouraging scripture from Paul that indicates there is nothing that man has ever created, built, dreamed up, fashioned, or imagined that would even come close to the plans that are in store for those who love their creator. God has prepared a future for us that is far beyond our most grandiose expectations. Paul was quoting Isaiah, who was expressing that the eye and the ear of man could not possibly look upon any god that could be compared to our God, who is awesome in every way. As Paul was quoting this scripture, his thoughts were about how awesome God’s plan was to give us the Holy Spirit. In addition to both of these applications, I believe that we can also apply this scripture to all that God has planned for us, and that would include our future.
For decades, Satan has been on a fast and furious mission to bring us into a One World Government under his control. His intent is to deceive the masses and keep the truth of eternal life through Yeshua the Messiah from spreading globally. His plan for a new world order will fail, and he will be defeated by the hand and breath of Yeshua Himself. However, we can look forward to a New World Order! When Messiah reigns on the earth for a thousand years, He will restore all things to their original state and intent. His Kingdom will bring about a righteous new order of government and peace. All through scripture, we are told of a glorious time when God will bring about a restoration of all things, that restoration will be His New World Order!
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. Acts 3:21
There are those in the body of Messiah who misinterpret this scripture to say that the heavens are going to hold the Messiah until all things are restored by His Church. These are the “Kingdom Now” or “Dominion” people, who actually believe that they have the capabilities to restore the state of this world by infiltrating the seven mountains and becoming dominant over all seven. Those seven mountains are entertainment, government, education, religion, media, business, and family. Christians should, of course, have influence in all of these segments of society, but to think that the Messiah will not return until all is restored by the efforts of mankind, and that we are in some way holding back His coming because we have failed the task, is, in my opinion, a grave error.
The second part of the above scripture holds the answer to this very serious misconception. God has spoken to the prophets about this time of restitution or restoration, and nowhere does it indicate that it is man's job to restore all things. In fact, it is actually impossible for man to accomplish those things that ONLY GOD CAN DO. Let’s take a look at what the prophets have said. Isaiah gives us a glimpse into the 1,000-year reign of the Messiah.
Isaiah 11:1 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the LORD: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.
This awesome time of restoration must begin with the removal of the wicked and of their father, Satan. (which we will cover in another scripture later) Just imagine what life will be like once the wicked are removed. Turning on the news today is heart-wrenching and depressing because one wicked crime after another is reported daily. Just think, when the wicked are removed, the reports will be about all the wonderful things that are taking place. When I was a child, we never locked the doors of our home, because in those days there was no fear of break-ins happening in our neighborhood. How beautiful it will be when fear of evil harm coming to us one way or another will be wiped away, and there will be no need to lock your doors for safety's sake.
Currently, the President of these United States is on a mission to drain the swamp of the evil that exists in our Government and he is making progress. The Lord has placed him there as an answer to prayer. God is obviously helping him to drain the swamp, but can you even imagine how awesome this world will be when Yeshua returns and deals with the evil, wicked people that serve Satan and hate God and the people of God? President Trump is at a disadvantage; he cannot read the hearts of those around him. He may be suspicious of his enemies, but he cannot always know for sure who is with him and who is against him. This is not the case with our Savior; no one will escape the breath of His nostrils when He comes to destroy His enemies.
Even the animal kingdom is going to be affected.
Isaiah 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and a little child shall lead them. 7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. 8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.
Currently, there is some very strange and abnormal behavior happening in the animal kingdom. Animals of prey have been seen protecting and nurturing those that they once hunted for a meal. I think it is possible that the Lord is taming and preparing His animal kingdom for the Millennium. How wonderful it will be for us to have entirely different relationships with the animals once we are restored to our state before the fall. Like Adam, we will have new and exciting adventures with our furry friends. Even the fear of poisonous snake bites will be of no consequence as we look into our glorious future.
Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. 10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
No longer will the Gentile nations be the enemies of Israel, for everyone will be full of the knowledge of the Lord Yeshua. There will no longer be any need for the armed soldiers that surround Mt. Zion or the armed men and women that protect the school children from possible attacks in Israel. For all who remain, after the wicked are no more, will be invited into His glorious rest. The Hebrew word for rest is mee-noo-khah, and Strong’s concordance gives the meaning to be peaceful, repose, consolation, comfort, abode, ease, quiet, and still. My favorite English choice for this Hebrew word, menokhah, is the word “matrimony.” Indeed, His matrimonial rest will be glorious.
As the scripture in Acts has said, the heavens have received the Messiah and heaven will keep Him there until the appointed time, certainly not until the Church takes dominion over this world; no, it will be the set time that God has determined to be the exact right moment. Then and only then, Yeshua will return to this earth to restore His creation to the state that it was in before the fall. This restoration will not happen all at once; I believe it will happen gradually. Scripture informs us that we, the bride of Yeshua, will be ruling and reigning with our King. Exactly how we will rule is not clear. Jesus tells us that we will rule over the nations.
Revelation 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: 27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
The nations will have a New World Order, for the King of Kings will govern according to His Covenant promises and according to all His laws. Every law in place will ensure His supreme law of the universe is kept, or swift action will ensue. For when the “Law of Love” that will govern the nations is broken by the vessels that the potter God has created, those vessels will be ruled by a rod of iron, causing them to be broken into shivers until everything within them learns to submit to “The Law of Love,” just as Jesus did and was broken by His Father. For there is no greater act of Love than what Jesus accomplished on the Cross. Two thousand years ago, Yeshua was our suffering servant; in the Millennium, He will be our Conquering King, ruling from Jerusalem. We, His Bride, will be given authority over the nations to rule them. Perhaps some of us will be teachers, teaching the ways of the Lord. Others perhaps will be Governors, Mayors, Judges, or Ambassadors. Whatever our assignment will be, it will be fashioned just for us, and each one will rejoice in the perfect fit they will find themselves in.
Those nations that survive the cleansing and purging of wickedness done by the hand and breath of Yeshua’s return will continue as nations under a new government. Life will surely advance, but life will continue under the mandatory civil and biblical laws that the Messiah will put in place worldwide.
Isaiah 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD'S house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
Let’s imagine again for a moment what this might be like. Think about what life will be like when all civil law will be just and equitable, when governors and clerks are treated the same, when regulations are fair and positive, when educators tell the truth, and judges and attorneys are honest. Think about how different this world will be when greed is not allowed, and everything is fair trade, when the abundance of food is distributed to the people in need, and when water is pure. Think about how blessed you will be when your achievements are recognized, and stealing a patent would not be allowed. Think about having enough time to be accomplished at all the things you regret not having done or studied. Think about a life where the things that cause you the most stress, like being unable to pay your bills or the constant threat of war, will be done away with. We can imagine all sorts of things…and yet...what God has planned is far better than anything we can imagine or think.
Currently, we are told at best that we only use 10% of the brain that God designed for us to use. Yet the accomplishments of the human effort are astronomical. Just imagine what great accomplishments can be achieved when we operate with 100% of our brain's capabilities collectively for 1,000 years. With an increase in knowledge and in brain power, the possibilities are endless.
Dr. Caroline Leaf, in her book Who Switched off My Brain, tells us, “At any given moment, your brain is creatively performing about 400 billion actions, of which you are only conscious of around 2,000.” Think about what will be possible when our conscious awareness is increased a hundredfold.
She also states that “Research shows that around 87% of illnesses can be attributed to our thought life, and approximately 13% to diet, genetics, and environment. Studies conclusively link more chronic diseases to an epidemic of toxic emotions in our culture.”
According to the American Institute on stress between 75 and 90% of visits to primary-care physicians result from stress-related disorders. The main weapon of stress that Satan uses against us is fear, and fear, according to Dr. Leaf, is the root of all stress, which leads to toxic emotions. Dr. Leaf writes that the hypothalamus is the heart of your endocrine or hormonal system, which responds to your thought life. This gland releases chemicals related to the emotions attached to your toxic thoughts. For instance, if you are gripped by fear or any other stress-related emotion, your brain secretes a negative hormone called CRH, which then travels to the pituitary gland and stimulates the release of another stress hormone called ACTH, which races to the adrenal glands and stimulates the kidneys to release biochemicals of cortisol and adrenaline. Cortisol and adrenaline, left unchecked leads to various diseases and death. Our bodies were not designed to operate under the avalanche of stress that is prevalent in our world today.
During the Millennium, Satan will be bound.
Rev. 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that, he must be loosed a little season.
Once Satan is bound, his weapons of stress will be no more. The Millennium environment will be an environment where “perfect love will cast out fear.” Our minds will find great rest or matrimony, and the bodies of the inhabitants left upon the earth will respond by healing themselves, just as they were designed to do. Once the onslaught of negativity is removed, these negative chemicals will lose their grip on the human body.
Dr. Leaf writes that just as negative reinforcement releases negative chemicals being released to do damage, the opposite is also true. Positive reinforcement releases positive chemicals such as endorphins, enkephalins, and serotonin, which are the brain’s natural pharmacy. No wonder the scriptures tell us:
Philipians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The Lord our God will create in the Millennium the kind of atmosphere that will make it easy for us to think about positive things. Therefore, people will be healthy. The minute we are born again, the Holy Spirit begins the job of renewing our minds; however, the renewal of our minds in the Millennium will be far superior. When the brain is positively healthy, it will transmit to the body to be positively healthy too.
The Bride of Messiah will not have a natural body, as will the inhabitants that survived upon the earth when the King of Kings arrived. The Bride will have received her glorified body at the time of the rapture.
1Corinthians 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. 51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
Our life in glorified bodies will be very different than life in our current natural bodies. We, who will rule and reign with Yeshua, will operate differently from the people who survived in their natural bodies. We can only imagine what glorified bodies will be like. This, though, we do know…we will be like Jesus. He gave us a preview of what the future glorified saints would be like in the Millennium when he walked the streets of Jerusalem after His resurrection.
The resurrected Messiah had flesh and bones
He ate food with His disciples
He talked and had fellowship with His friends
He was recognizable
He went fishing
He had the power to reveal more understanding of God
He had a memory
He was not subject to natural laws and limitations of the flesh as in His natural state
He could travel between heaven and earth without a vehicle
He could appear and disappear at will
He could do signs, wonders, and miracles. That is, He had total dominion over nature
He was active in His Father’s business
He brought peace wherever He went
He pursued love of God and man[1]
We will be like Him! Hallelujah!!!
The surviving inhabitants of the earth are promised a joyous, long life.
Isaiah 65:18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
The days of sorrow will be no more in Jerusalem.
Isaiah 65:19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.
When a person reaches a hundred years of age, he will still be a child. The righteous are promised to live to a ripe old age. The word seems to indicate that sin will not be entirely done away with. It will, however, be dealt with swiftly and severely.
Isaiah 65:20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.
Zechariah 8:4 Thus saith the LORD of hosts; There shall yet old men and old women dwell in the streets of Jerusalem, and every man with his staff.
Prosperity will come to Israel and Judah, and they will bless the world so much more than they are able to do now.
Amos 9:13 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him that soweth seed; and the mountains shall drop sweet wine, and all the hills shall melt.
Zechariah 8:12 For the seed shall be prosperous; the vine shall give her fruit, and the ground shall give her increase, and the heavens shall give their dew; and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things. 13 And it shall come to pass, that as ye were a curse among the heathen, O house of Judah, and house of Israel; so will I save you, and ye shall be a blessing: fear not, but let your hands be strong.
In the New World Order in the Millennium reign, there will be a New Order of Worship.
Zechariah 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. 18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 20 In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD'S house shall be like the bowls before the altar. 21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.
Our lives in the Millennium will continually be in a state of worship. Just think about a society where every decision made is based on how to glorify God. Now that will be true worship. The most important occasion for worship will be the Feast of Tabernacles. So important is this date to the Lord that those nations that refused to come to Jerusalem to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles will be punished by the Lord, first by withholding the rain, then with a plague. Those who do not come to Jerusalem for the feast will be considered by the Lord to be heathen, and if they disobey in this way, He will smite them. No acts of disobedience will be tolerated.
Everything, including the bells on the horses, the pots and pans, will have its sole purpose as a dedication to the Holiness of the Lord. Life will be a life of worship from the rising of the sun until it rises again for another day. Everything and everyone will be set apart for the Lord. All false ways of worship will be abolished. There will no longer be anyone or anything that will defile the house of the Lord. The worship of self will be no more. It will be in the Millennium that the fullness of worshipping in Spirit and in Truth will be achieved.
The tabernacle of David will be restored.
Acts 15:16 After this I will return, and will build again the tabernacle of David, which is fallen down; and I will build again the ruins thereof, and I will set it up: 17 That the residue of men might seek after the Lord, and all the Gentiles, upon whom my name is called, saith the Lord, who doeth all these things.
Amos 9:11 In that day will I raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen, and close up the breaches thereof; and I will raise up his ruins, and I will build it as in the days of old:
There is much controversy about what the restoration of the tabernacle of David will look like when the Lord raises it up again. Actually, the tabernacle of David is a whole other study that would be impossible to cover in this study. The following things stand out about the tabernacle of David.
1Chronicles 23:4 Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand were officers and judges: 5 Moreover four thousand were porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, said David, to praise therewith.
1Ch 23:30 And to stand every morning to thank and praise the LORD, and likewise at even;
Four thousand praised God on instruments daily while David was King. Yet, praise and worship of the King of Kings during the Millennium is beyond my capacity to verbalize.
One thing that we can be sure of is that worship services will be a Holy Awesome demonstration of our Love for God, totally undefiled from pretenders or mockers, and self-gratification. His Holy Presence among the people of God will be unhindered from worldly influences that we are now accustomed to. Worship services will be unlike anything that we have experienced this side of heaven. The Joy of the Lord will be released, and every single one of us will find a newfound freedom to sing like we never have before and to dance like we never have before. In time, some of us will worship with the instruments that we have learned to play since the King set up His Kingdom in Jerusalem. John may have gotten a taste of what true worship looks like when he was caught up to heaven.
Revelation 4:2 And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne. 3 And he that sat was to look upon like a jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. 4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold. 5 And out of the throne proceeded lightnings and thunderings and voices: and there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven Spirits of God. 6 And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind. 7 And the first beast was like a lion, and the second beast like a calf, and the third beast had a face as a man, and the fourth beast was like a flying eagle. 8 And the four beasts had each of them six wings about him; and they were full of eyes within: and they rest not day and night, saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. 9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever, 10 The four and twenty elders fall down before him that sat on the throne, and worship him that liveth for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 5:8 And when he had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the Lamb, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth. 11 And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands; 12 Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. 13 And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. 14 And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.
Revelation 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.
Revelation 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. 2 And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: 3 And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth.
These Jewish Evangelists sing a new song born out of their experiences. We, too, will have new songs to sing to the Lord that will be birthed out of our own special experiences…Songs that no one else will be able to sing.
Revelation 15:2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints. 4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest.
Revelation 19:5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great. 6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. 7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. 8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. 9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
When Yeshua sits upon His Throne in Jerusalem, one of the first things that He will initiate for His people will be the worship of Heaven. In closing, I want to leave you with this thought: When John experienced his awesome visit to heaven, and the Lord showed him what was to come at the end of the age, John looked and saw multitudes upon multitudes worshipping at the Throne of God. What I want you to remember is that YOU WERE THERE. John looked into the future,e and he saw YOU numbered among the multitudes.
I thought that I was finished with this study until this morning, when the Lord woke me to add the following:
We are currently in anticipation of the end-time events to unfold. Jesus told us that we would have tribulation. This word tribulation in Hebrew is the word tsar, which means narrow or a tight place, figuratively the world expresses trouble. In Greek, the word tribulation is thilipsis and means pressure. In both cases, tribulation of any kind causes stress upon the body. The Lord has given us several solutions for stress relief that we can do “in the meantime” as we wait for His Glorious Millennium Reign.
These are the things that will release the positive chemicals in our bodies needed for good health.
1. Enter the Lord’s Shalom. Peace that passes all understanding comes from being obedient to His Word.
Deuteronomy 4:30 When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice; 31 (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
2. Listen to your favorite Music. Scientific tests prove that your favorite music releases positive chemicals through your body. Certain frequencies are known to bring healing.
3. Exercise Regularly. A large body of research shows that people who exercise regularly have added protection against depression, tend to deal with anxiety better, and also get better sleep.
4. Eat a Healthy diet. Nutrient-dense foods can improve how you feel and think, plus balance your blood sugar, which acts as brain and body fuel.
5. Laugh More. Laughter is basically a quick fix for feeling almost instantly better, thanks to the release of endorphins. Studies have even linked laughter with an elevated pain threshold.
6. Connect with Others. Connection — through means like being touched when receiving a massage or a hug, volunteering to help others, or just having a deep conversation with someone you trust — all release oxytocin and other chemicals that help you feel calm and comforted.
7. Spend Time in Nature & in the Sun. Exposing yourself to nature and the sun for about 20 minutes daily helps your skin absorb UV rays and produce Vitamin D, which is important for your mood. Sunshine and nature also seem to help regulate the release of neurochemicals like serotonin and melatonin.
8. Learn Something New. Dopamine is the primary neurotransmitter involved in stimulus-reward learning, so it can help us learn positive behaviors and stay motivated when used to our advantage.
9. Incorporate Soothing Tastes, Smells & Essential Oils. Aromatherapy, or simply smelling something that reminds you of comforting times (such as fresh-baked cookies), has been linked to the release of endorphins. Essential oil scents such as vanilla, chamomile, rose and Lavender can help you actually feel calmer almost instantly. Similarly, consumption of “guilty pleasures” like dark chocolate can bring on a feeling of comfort, thanks to the release of chemicals such as theobromine.
So, in-the-mean-time let’s treat our mind and our body with the stress relief that works for us as the creator of our being intended. Until then…Maranatha!
