Emotive, passionate, innovative, flexible, and layered these are just a few words used to describe who Pedro Francois is. More than an actor, comedian, host, or radio personality, I am an entertainer and one who is very zealous about perfecting my craft.
Born and raised in Miami, FL where most young men dream of making it to the pros, but instead lose their life to the streets; I wanted to be the exception. Growing up with a speech impediment I was enrolled in ESE (Exceptional Student Education), which in Florida is a class designed to cater to children with disabilities. I often found myself questioning my purpose.
It wasn’t until I saw a poster with actress Whoopi Goldberg that said, “If I can do it with a disability then, so can you.“ That actually made me began to see my potential. With Whoopi as my inspiration I started on my journey to become an entertainer.
As I got older, I began to step out of my shell and into my own spotlight. Once I got into high school, I joined the drama class; which solidified for me that this is where I wanted to be, so much that I majored in Theater in college. After college I relocated to Atlanta, GA to rub elbows with the industry's up and coming producers, play writers, fellow actors, directors and more.
Being in the city of Atlanta and being immersed in the culture, helped me discover my love for comedy. I would go to these events to network and meet new people and often was asked had I ever considered doing comedy. At the time it wasn’t on my radar but from the time I hit stage to do my first amateur show I knew that I had found a new love.
Comedy led me to hosting, which led me to crossing paths with a group of guys who hosted their own internet radio show. One day they asked me to come on as a guest co host. The show was so entertaining and organic that it launched my journey into radio. Now, as an adult I have three passions: acting, comedy, and radio.
It's funny because in some way or another they all go hand and hand, but they also allow me to do what I set out to do very early on and that is to express myself, make people feel emotion, connect with people and educate.
