After getting off the bus that took us to the trailhead, we were immediately greeted by a beautiful river filled with light blue spring water. Behind it, there were several low mountain ranges which added to the backdrop. Our hike from the start was smooth and shady, and the trail we took was surrounded by grasses and trees. We crossed a tall bridge towering over a rapid creek before starting the ascent. The path we took led us to a spooky, abandoned castle at the top of one of the mountains. On the way up, we passed a lovely green meadow covered with crickets. You couldn’t take two steps without causing a swarm of locusts to go flying into the air. By the time we finally crossed the meadow, the castle was in sight. It was awfully desolate and in quite significant ruin, but against my fair sense, I kept on going to explore it. When we got there, it was actually a very interesting structure. There was a deep tunnel leading farther than I could see, so I didn’t explore it. Looking into its history, I found out that it was built in honor of someone. After spending some time at the castle, we went to the overlook that spanned over the spring water river. The sight was beautiful, but there wasn’t much to do. We headed down shortly afterward, but before we boarded the bus to go back to the hotel, I went to the top of the river to fill my bottle up with spring water. There were several rapids and large rocks, but I didn’t think much of it. Only after I bent down and leaned in near the river did I realize how slippery it was. Sure enough, I fell in. The water was very deep to where my feet couldn’t touch the ground even when the water reached my neck. And since the shore was so slippery, I struggled to get out. Thankfully, I pulled myself out, and we hobbled back to catch the bus.
