Bmw Brake Caliper Hex Size

Does anyone know what size hex bit I need to remove the guide pins on the front callipers? I thought it was 8mm but that is too small, need to buy the right size bit:dunno. Hi everyone, I tried to take off the brake caliper guide bolts using a 8mm hex and I thought it was the right size but it started slipping! (i hope i didn't do to much damage) In the bentley manual it says the guide bolt is 7mm hex, but in a diy writeup it says it's 11mm. Does anyone know off hand what the hex size is for that bolt?

Hi guys, Is the correct tool for removing calipers on my 1150rt hex head/allen wrenches? I tried a couple different sizes, but there is slack or looseness, and the next size up won't fit. I'm afraid to proceed without asking another dumb question. I'm wondering if the bolts are star bits, which.
