Is it worth submitting some of my more valuable coverless comics to be graded? I have first issues that are coverless, even a 1.5 is worth over $100 on some with cover. Are comic books without covers worth anything? Most comic books without their cover would be worthless, but for many, this could be the only way they could get such a classic Superman comic book from the first couple of years of publication without remortgaging or selling a kidney. First, thanks for any help, its a long list. I found a small lot of comic books without the glossy front and back covers. They are mostly from the 1973-1974 era, a few are even 1st or 2nd issues.

Without the covers are they worth anything? They are in decent shape, a few have bent pages, see list below. Offers? Put em on Ebay? Trash em? I also found a small (4" x 3") Walt Disney's Donald Duck. Like all collectibles, the value is determined by the number of people who think they need it and the number available for sale.

Investing in collectibles is sometimes refered to as the "greater. As a collector, when I come across coverless books, it's like quarter slots. Low risk, high (unlikely) reward if there's an overlooked key issue somewhere, but fun to read and go through either way.

I'd casually pick up coverless Patsy Walkers for $1 each. Any superhero titles in there? If it's a stack of what, 50-60? Are comics without covers worth anything other than reading material? Mostly mid to early 60s Added some photos and a list of the "main" ones.

The others are westerns, disney things like that. The industry suffered a crash that completely transformed it. Today, major comic publishers put out a fraction of the books they used to, and the media franchises generated from their books are more important than the comics themselves.
The market for comics as a valuable collector's item is full of near. A comic without a cover is basically going to be graded in the Poor (0.5) category, which is about as low as you can go and is usually not worth much. However, there are people out there that try to restore key books by matching coverless copies with removed covers, so a coverless FF #1 and #2 could still fetch a small reward.
I have some comic books that have there covers missing complete. What grade will they get. I think if you collect comics mostly for the covers and prefer to read online versions or reprints, then, yeah, it doesn't make sense to buy coverless comics no matter how cheap you can get them.
