Fern Invasive Species. Royal fern royal fern (osmunda regalis) is an invasive species of fern that thrives in wetlands, swamps and damp bare ground, crowding out. It poses a threat to indigenous species because it spreads aggressively and is able to form dense stands, quickly displacing indigenous vegetation.

It poses a threat to indigenous species because it spreads aggressively and is able to form dense stands, quickly displacing indigenous vegetation. To identify vulnerable landscapes and future distribution of the fern, this study aimed to model landscape vulnerability to the bracken fern. If you pull some ferns up in your landscape and see the tubers, you have the invasive plant.

Ostrich Fern Is a Stately Option for the Shade Horticulture

Royal fern royal fern (osmunda regalis) is an invasive species of fern that thrives in wetlands, swamps and damp bare ground, crowding out. To identify vulnerable landscapes and future distribution of the fern, this study aimed to model landscape vulnerability to the bracken fern. The key to identifying the native versus invasive fern is to look for the tubers, or little “nuts”, on the roots of the ferns. This paper therefore, reviews ferns invasions, mechanisms of invasions and management of invasive ferns that have been reported in literatures.
