The M550d is available as a sedan or a wagon and is set apart from lesser 5. BMW just announced the M550d xDrive which comes with a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine that chugs out 400 horsepower and tire-shredding 560 lb-ft of torque (that's 81 more than its standard gas 4.4-liter V8 brother) available in either a sedan or wagon trim. The BMW M550d Touring is the most interesting model of the Bavarian company to dispose of the only diesel engine "directly sponsored" by the M department of BMW; the same equips the saloon version and also the X5 and the X6 M50d.
