If you’ve ever had a song stuck in your head on repeat, you might appreciate the ability to make that happen intentionally on your iPhone. Whether you’re practicing lyrics, focusing during work, or setting a mood, looping a single track can be surprisingly useful—and Apple gives you several ways to do it.
Using the Settings App to Loop a Single Song in the Music App
The fastest way to create a loop of one song is through the built-in Music app without any extra downloads.
- Open Music and play the song you want to repeat.
- Tap the mini-player at the bottom of the screen to bring the player to full view.
- Tap the Now Playing bar at the top to get the detailed playback controls.
- Tap the Queue icon (usually a list icon with three lines and a music note).
- At the bottom of the queue screen, tap Repeat once to enable repeat for the current queue, and tap it again until the icon shows Repeat 1.
The “Repeat 1” mode will loop the same track continuously, which effectively turns your favorite song into a personal background loop.
