Comparison of the BMW E46 and E90 3-series. Which BMW is better and why? BMW E46 vs E90 handling, performance, comfort, reliability, & more. E46 330i vs e90 330i: What's the difference between BMW e46 and e90 model? The BMW is one of the most iconic brands of all time.
They have created sports cars that are renowned among motorists all over the world. When they released E46, the car outdid their former models. Am I right that our 330i and E90(year 2006-2007) 330i use the same 3.0 engine? How come E90 330i has 250hp and we only get 225hp? Don't get me wrong, 225hp is overkill for DD use! That compares our e46 330i to the e90 325i (3 liter motor), with far less hp/tq.

Lack of valvetronic, and obviously detuned (I believe the e90 motors have different intake manifolds from eachother, maybe different cams etc?) Last edited by TC535i; 10-27-2010 at 09:24 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost. Older cars are generally less complicated, and BMW added lots of newer features and electrical components to the E90 as compared to the E46.
This may make doing your own repairs more difficult and time consuming. Vehicle-Virgins reviews the 2006 BMW 330iSpecifications:Price: $15-20,000HP: 258Torque: 220 ft lbs0-60: 6.1 secondsEPA: 21 city, 31 highway. E90 330i Sport vs.

E46 330i/ci ZHP All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:05 AM. Car and driver got a n E90 330i to 60 in just 5.6 s and the 1/4 in 14.3.
Those figures are right on par with a ZHP, and quoting them the E90 was tested during less than favorable conditions. In an older test they got an 01' 330i to 60 in 6.1 secs and the quarter in 14.8. Compare BMW E90 3 Series 330i 2005 vs BMW E46 3 Series 330i 2003Multi-link.

The ZHP has 10 more HP (235 vs 225). I believe the ZHP differences are:new camshafts, digital motor electronics, and lighter flywheel. Does anyone know what changes BMW made to the E90 330i engine to get 255 HP out of it?
