BMW has an entire division called BMW Individual, and it's where the standard color catalog gets tossed out the window. These "secret" paint codes refer to ultra-rare and custom finishes-some previously reserved for VIPs, collectors, or one. 5 months wait!= rare color.
Tanz blue is probably the most common Individual color I've seen, actually. It's even a Priority 1 option on the 2017 4 series. E9X cars with Individual colors are more rare, like this Neptune Blue example.

The only thing I would say about colour rarity from experience is that it means you can't get coloured parts easily or at all on the second hand.
