Transform Your Outdoor Space: DIY Bench to Picnic Table Plans

Cutting the Pieces

Assembling the Bench

Next, attach the backrest supports to the legs using 3-inch screws and wood glue. These should be positioned 24 inches from the ground. Then, attach the backrest to the backrest supports using 2.5-inch screws.
To create the seat, lay out the seat slats 1.5 inches apart on the supports. Attach them using 2.5-inch screws. Ensure the slats are flush with the top of the supports.
Adding the Table Top
To create the picnic table top, lay out the table top slats 1.5 inches apart on two of the legs. Attach them using 2.5-inch screws. Ensure the slats are flush with the top of the legs. Then, attach the stainless steel piano hinge along the back edge of the table top, connecting it to the backrest.
Finishing Touches
Once your bench is fully assembled, you can stain or paint it to match your outdoor space. Allow the stain or paint to dry completely before using the bench.
