Step 1: Prepare the Legs and Supports
Using your 4x4 posts, cut four 27-inch legs and two 24-inch supports. Sand any rough edges and apply wood glue to the ends of the supports. Attach them to the legs using 2.5-inch screws, creating two leg assemblies.
Step 2: Build the Bench Seat
Cut four 2x6 boards to 60 inches each for the seat. Attach them together using wood glue and 2.5-inch screws, creating a 4x60-inch rectangle. Sand the seat smooth.
Step 3: Assemble the Table Top
Cut two 2x6 boards to 60 inches each and two to 24 inches each for the table top frame. Assemble the frame using wood glue and 2.5-inch screws. Cut four 1x6 boards to 60 inches each for the table top slats. Space them evenly within the frame and attach with 1.25-inch screws.

Step 4: Attach the Table Top and Bench Seat
Flip the leg assemblies so they're upside down. Center the bench seat on top, ensuring it's flush with the legs. Attach the seat to the legs using 2.5-inch screws. Flip the assembly right-side up and attach the table top to the legs using the same screws.
Step 5: Finish and Seal
Sand any rough edges or surfaces, then apply an exterior wood sealant to protect your picnic table bench from the elements. Allow it to dry completely before using.
Enjoy Your New Picnic Table Bench!
Congratulations! You've just built a durable, stylish picnic table bench that will serve as the perfect gathering spot for years to come. Invite your friends and family, grab some sandwiches, and enjoy your new outdoor addition.
