Cutting the Pieces

To create a more finished look, you can add a border around the edge of the table top using 2x4 lumber. Cut the border pieces to fit the perimeter of the table top and attach them using 2.5-inch screws and glue.

Building the Benches

With the table complete, it's time to build the benches. The process is similar to building the table base. Attach the 2x4 supports together using 3-inch screws and glue, then attach the 2x4 bench slats using 2.5-inch screws.

To create a comfortable seating area, space the bench slats about 1 inch apart. This will allow for some flexibility and make the benches more comfortable to sit on.
