Awesome 80s Bedrooms part 4: The Princess Bride Edition by Shawn Robare Nov 6, 2013 Awesome 80s Bedrooms, Branded in the 80s, Read I've been having a lot of fun searching through old movies for awesome kid-centric bedrooms, so I figured I'd take a look at another one this week. A few days ago, I was watching "Big" (Tom Hanks) for the first time in years and years. And I couldn't help but think was, "Did nobody on this set actually know a 12 year old boy?" Josh's room was designed like, and filled with toys that an 8-10 year old kid would have, and they had him wearing fucking cartoon underwear like a 7 year old.

In the film, the boy isn't given a name, and instead of his father reading the book to him, it's his grandfather. His home is also changed to Evanston, Illinois. The grandson is first seen sick with a fever, playing the game Hardball on his Commodore 64 from his bed.

This young boy's bedroom is essentially the backbone to this 1987 movie: When home sick in bed, his grandfather reads to him and he watches a tale of love and adventure come to life before his eyes. 80s movie/tv bedrooms were the best. Here's my favorite one (Fred Savage's from Princess Bride).

Trivia Trivia: Mark Knopfler, who composed the music to the Princess Bride, only agreed to do so if Rob Reiner could include the baseball cap he wore in the film Spinal Tap. The director placed the cap in the boy's bedroom, beside the bed.
