Sconce Placement In Powder Room

Our powder room has wiring for two sconces. Unfortunately, due to the placement of a plumbing pipe, we cannot place two on either side of the vanity. We could do a single sconce, or we could try to put two for example, could we place one sconce in the middle of the vanity and one over the toilet, or is that odd?

How much space should I leave between the sconce and the framed mirror? The sconce that I am considering is 6" wide. The vanity is 48 inches, the wall is 53 inches, thinking of a framed vertical mirror 30"x 40", or perhaps 28"x 38". Hoping for the larger mirror to get as m.

In addition to sconces, we will have a 'fan-can' centered in the room for bright light and fan. I envisioned a wide, tall mirror with a simple frame and mounting a sconce on the side walls. My thinking is the larger mirror would make the room look larger? Would sconce on the side walls work? If so, how high should sconces be from countertop?

Since it's a powder room, perhaps after mirror is settled, could have two thin shelves above toilet with a basket for toilet paper and small decor. Maybe re-evaluate the lighting needed, the sconce and pendant don't look right. What is the overhead light in the room? Perhaps that can be changed to a semi.

I am redoing my powder room. The wall is 38" wide. I plan on putting a 24" wide by 30" height mirror on the wall with two sconces both sides.
