Here are some preparation tips:

Understand the SHRM BoCK

The SHRM BoCK is the foundation of the SHRM PIP. It outlines the HR competencies and knowledge required for each certification level. Understanding the BoCK will help you focus your studies.

SHRM offers a free BoCK overview to help candidates understand the domains and their weightings.

Use Official Study Materials

SHRM provides official study guides, practice exams, and online courses to help candidates prepare. These resources are designed to align with the SHRM BoCK and exam format, ensuring you cover the right topics.

Additionally, SHRM offers online study groups, webinars, and other resources to support candidates throughout their preparation journey.

Create a Study Plan

Developing a study plan is crucial for effective preparation. Allocate time for each domain, and set aside time for practice exams and reviews. Consistency is key, so aim to study a little each day rather than cramming.

SHRM's online learning platform, SHRM Learning System, offers a personalized study plan based on your learning style and pace.

Take Practice Exams

Practice exams are an essential part of your preparation. They help you understand the exam format, identify areas where you need improvement, and build your stamina for the 4-hour exam.

SHRM offers two full-length practice exams as part of its learning system. Additionally, there are third-party practice exams available that can provide a different perspective.
