The University of Oklahoma Division of Interior Design provides a design education within student-centric learning environment emphasizing excellence in education, research and service to the community. In this video, Cindy Darbandi and Ida Rodriguez offer an honest account of studying design at The Open University (OU). While studying with us, they also played a key role in co-designing the new Bachelor of Design (BDes) qualification during their Virtual Internship.

The University of Oklahoma Division of Interior Design provides a student-centric learning environment with diverse faculty who emphasize excellence in design education, innovative research, and service to the community while preparing students to join the professional practice of interior design. This year, we received 48 submissions from 39 students across our four core design modules. One standout project was selected from each module, along with an overall competition winner.

Welcome to the Design Hub where you can find out more about design and innovation at The Open University. As I settle into my role at the OU, I have been reflecting on what previous projects taught me about design research, particularly when it sits between disciplines. We offer two different degrees in Design at the OU.

Our new BDes Design degree focuses entirely on design with a fixed study path or the BA/BSc in Design and Innovation allows you to study design alongside a complementary subject from a wide range of discipline choices. In this module, youll learn about the essential skills and practices designers use to create detailed design solutions. Youll develop your ability to identify design opportunities, meet potential users needs and create and communicate design solutions.
