1987 Bmw 325i Fuel Pump Relay Location

What are the characteristics of a bad fuel pump relay or other relays. My car is running lean at higher rpm's and I have replaced almost everything besides these relays. Detailed information about the relay and fuse box bmw e30 (3 series) with a detailed assignment and video example.

I have a 1988 bmw 325 IX and bought a fuel pump relay for it. It is orange with 4 prongs I am reading everywhere you need a tall 7 prong relay. However I dont even have a relay like that on the car to begin with.

My question is which of the 8 relays is the fuel pump? All of my relays are all 4 prong and 2 are 5 prong which go to the lights I believe. If anyone knows would help abunch trying to. BMW E46 325i 330i M3 Relay For Fuel Injectors Siemens K6327 V23134-K59-X312 eBay 1987-1991: M3.

2001-2006: 325ci. connect 30 and 87 jumper wire if pump kicks on then it's your relay.as your standing on the driver side of vehicle it's the relay towards the front bumper (5 prong). Have a 1987 bmw 325i with no power to fuse 11 for the fuel pump.trace fuel pump relay,did test by jumpwire pin 30 and 86.

To test; remove relay and jump across the green/violet and the red/white (I think the other colour is white!)this should make the fuel pump run regardless of ign switch position.Before condeming the relay,make sure that fuse 11 is intact. Youth is wasted on the young. My new and pristine 325i sedan suddenly developed a no-start condition, almost has to be fuel delivery as it will fire a few times then go into steady cranking with no hint of firing.

I'm soon going to do the relay/pump troubleshoot procedure but I got a surprise when I pulled the cap off of the three relays that includes the one for the pump. The fuel pump relay is a four pin/connection relay. The wiring harness is long enough for it to fit in almost any position on the engine side of the fuse box.

To be sure you are dealing with the fuel pump relay you need to verify the wire colors and pin connections. Pins 85 & 86 are the coil and pins 30 & 87 are the contacter section of the relay.
