The BMW Championship is a professional golf tournament which is the penultimate FedEx Cup playoff event on the PGA Tour schedule. Introduced in 2007, the BMW Championship was previously known as the Western Open.

Sebastian Munoz defeated Rahm in a playoff at LIV Golf Indianapolis, but the latter's finish was enough to secure the season-long title over Joaquin Niemann. Scheffler meanwhile secured his fifth PGA Tour win of 2025 at the BMW Championship, seeing off Robert MacIntyre by two shots. This year's event features an expanded 6-hour IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race, exclusive 3-day access to the BMW M Performance Center's upscale suite and viewing deck, BMW-only parking, catered meals, parade laps, garage tours-all designed to deliver an unforgettable race weekend experience! After what was effectively a four-hour race, the Indianapolis 8 Hour was claimed by the No. 46 Team WRT BMW M4 GT3 EVO of Kelvin van der Linde, Valentino Rossi and Charles Weerts.

The victory guaranteed the Intercontinental GT Challenge drivers championship to van der Linde, BMW having already assured. In the end, it was enough for the #31 BMW M4 GT3: 0.260 seconds made the difference for the celebrated victory. With this, Team WRT defended its triumph from the previous year: in 2023, van der Linde and Vanthoor, together with Philipp Eng, had won in Indianapolis.
