I know it's been covered a few times however I've just had the dreaded call from the dealer that the filter in my 2019 M140 has disintegrated during the oil service. BMW are saying it's not covered as the last oil service was on the 10th Jan 2021 and we are on the 31st Jan 2023 so out of the 2. BMW filters often collapse if left for the recommended interval. Are B58 oil filters still disintegrating? I've got an oil change coming up on my 440 and am planning to do it myself. However I've seen a lot of horror stories about the infamous oil filter failure on removal so was thinking about just taking it to BMW or a decent Indy.

Massive disappointment that the issue still hasn't been resolved but thanks for doing another filter teardown. So many cheap oil filter kits just leak right past the o ring. Don't be cheap with your bimmer.
