How to hear the Bath Abbey choirs Whether it's an arrangement that's rousing or reflective, traditional or modern, listening to the pure tones of a choir within the magnificent acoustics of Bath Abbey is awe-inspiring. You can hear our Choir perform live at the Abbey every week. The Abbey Lay-Clerks sing at Sunday morning and afternoon worship, alternating with the Boys' and Girls.

A concert of Christmas music from the Bath Abbey Girls Choir, including solos from the choristers and seasonal favourites, recorded live on 12th December 2020. The concert's centrepiece is Britten. Bath Abbey Girls' choir was founded in 1997 by Dr Peter King, the Director of Music at the Abbey from 1986 to 2016.

Huw Williams is the current Director of Music who leads the choir today. The girls range in age from 11 to 18. This is the first time the Abbey choirs have performed music composed by a member of the Girls Choir.

There has been a long and famous tradition of choristers becoming composers, dating back to the Renaissance and beyond, but it is a great thrill to see this tradition alive and developing with music by our talented young ladies. Welcome to the Abbey Girls Choir Tallulah, Libby, Tilda, Sophie and Bethany. And welcome to the Abbey Boys Choir Alfred, Alex, Vinnie, Caspar, Pin Jia and Alessandro.

We look forward to hearing you all perform in our services and concerts! Our first concert of the new term is 'Music of the Spheres'. About the choir Bath Abbey Choir comprises three groups - Boys (8 years and upwards), Girls (11 to 18 years) and a Back Row of Lay Clerks that includes female altos. Boys and girls are selected from a wide range of local schools.
