Now that you have the header set up, it's time to design the body of your sales receipt, which will include the itemized list of products or services sold, their quantities, prices, taxes, and totals.

1. Click outside the header to return to the document body. Start by adding a table to organize the itemized list. Click on 'Insert' > 'Table' and choose a 4-column table (for Item, Quantity, Price, and Tax).

Adding the Itemized List

In the first column of the table, enter the names of the items or services sold. In the second column, add the quantities. In the third column, input the prices for each item or service.

1. To calculate the tax for each item, you can use a simple formula: (Price * Tax Rate) - Price. For example, if the price is $10 and the tax rate is 7%, the tax would be ($10 * 0.07) - $10 = $0.70.

2. In the fourth column, enter the calculated tax for each item.

Adding Subtotals, Tax, and Total

Below the itemized list, add a row to the table for subtotal, tax, and grand total. Use the '=SUM' function in Word to automatically calculate the subtotal and tax.

1. In the first cell of the new row, type 'Subtotal'. In the second cell, enter the formula '=SUM(Price)' to calculate the total price of all items.

2. In the third cell, type 'Tax'. In the fourth cell, enter the formula '=SUM(Tax)' to calculate the total tax.

3. Add another row below for the grand total. In the first cell, type 'Total'. In the second cell, enter the formula '=Subtotal + Tax' to calculate the final amount.

Finalizing Your Sales Receipt Template

Now that you've designed the body of your sales receipt, it's time to add the final touches and finalize your template:

1. Click outside the table to return to the document body. Add any additional information you'd like to include, such as payment terms, thank-you message, or your business logo.

2. To make your sales receipts more visually appealing, you can adjust the font, font size, and table borders. Click on the 'Design' tab in the Word menu to access these options.

3. Save your template by clicking on 'File' > 'Save As' and choosing a location on your computer. Name your file 'Sales Receipt Template' and select 'Word Template' as the file type.

Congratulations! You've successfully created a sales receipt template in Microsoft Word. The next time you make a sale, simply open your template, update the header with the relevant customer information, and print out your sales receipt. Happy selling!
