One of a mere 62 left-hand-drive 2000GTs built for the US market, this pale yellow beauty is easily as rare as its contemporaries from Maranello. Its Yamaha-tuned 148 hp, 2.0-litre straight-six twin-cam engine has recently benefitted from a full engine rebuild by the specialists at Maine Line Exotic, meaning it should purr like it did straight. Only 351 (only 62 left hand drive) 2000GT's were produced worldwide! The 2000GT shattered many world speed records and was able to achieve a top speed of 135 mph! The 2000GT made a name for itself as a world class car.

At last week's RM Auction in Monterey, the first left-hand-drive Toyota 2000GT built for the U.S. market, in largely unrestored condition, went home with a new owner for a fee-inclusive price of $825,000. The 2000GT's speed record of 220 km/h was not broken until the 1980s.

One of only 62 left-hand-drive (LHD) examples ever produced of the Toyota 2000GT for the United States has just resurfaced at auction. Needless to say, it's going to command big, big bucks.

This 1967 Toyota 2000GT is one of 351 examples built during a three-year production run and one of just 84 configured in left-hand drive.

Chassis 10193 was imported to Switzerland in January 1969 through Swiss Toyota importer Emil Frey and delivered new to Geneva dealer Grand Garage des Nations, who sold it to its first owner in 1971. 1967 Toyota 2000GT MF10-10083 - sold for $825,000 The first U.S.-delivery and first left-hand-drive 2000GT. Known ownership from new; unrestored and incredibly well preserved.

1967 TOYOTA 2000 GT 1 of 98 Left-Hand Drive This 1976 Toyota 2000 GT Chassis 10045 was built in July 1967 and was given special internal numbering as only the third left-hand-drive example built. The 45th 2000 GT completed, it was finished in Solar Red, with the black vinyl interior common to all production 2000 GTs. Don Davis' 2000GT is very special, as it is one of only 62 left-hand drive examples produced and an original U.S.-delivery car.

After spending its first few decades stateside, the car returned to its home nation in the ownership of a private enthusiast, then, once again, it made its way to the United States.
