This color wheel project goes way beyond a worksheet. Students study the work of Sonia Delaney and local muralist @iampattytalbert64 , noticing how intersecting shapes and bold color relationships create mood and energy. Then they design their own composition that brings the color wheel to life.
Using rulers, tracers and shaped stencils, students build dynamic compositions inspired by the artists. They mix primary and secondary colors to create intermediate colors, then carry those custom mixes throughout the entire background and color wheel. The results are vibrant intentional and full of personality.
