The Thames Path is a long distance walking trail, following England's best known river for 185.2miles (298 km) as it meanders from its source in the Cotswolds through several rural counties and on into the heart of London.

In 1764 George III appointed Capability Brown as the Chief Gardener at the greatest garden along the Thames, Hampton Court Palace. Island Gardens to Embankment (7.5 miles) This walk takes in the Thames Path on the north banks of the Thames as it starts at Island Gardens, just accross the river from Greenwich.
