Between the Lions is an American animated/live-action/puppet educational children's television series designed to promote reading. The show is a co-production between WGBH in Boston, Sirius Thinking, Ltd., in New York City, and Mississippi Public Broadcasting (the latter PBS station co-producing from 2005-2010) in Jackson, the distributor from seasons 1. Between the Lions Get wild about reading with Lionel, Leona, Cleo and Leo.
CloudKid teamed up with WGBH to produce four fully-animated episodes of the Emmy-winning PBS Kids show, Between the Lions. The show features a fun-loving family of lions (Theo, Cleo, Lionel, and Leona) who live in a library, and the episodes follow their learning adventures. What Is Between the Lions About? The show is mostly about a family of lions. They live and work in a big, busy place called "The Barnaby B. Busterfield III Memorial Public Library." The lion family helps people learn about books.
Other characters also live in the library. These include Click, a computer mouse, and Heath, a dinosaur who is a thesaurus. Between the Lions is a PBS Kids puppet television series.
The show was produced by WGBH, in Boston for Sirius Thinking, Ltd. in association with Mississippi Public Broadcasting, in Mississippi. The series is designed to promote reading.
The show premiered on Monday, April 3, 2000, with Episode 01: Pecos Bill Cleans Up the West, and ended November 22, 2010, with Episode 130: Red Parka Mary/Not. Miss Merriweather, the head librarian, is very particular about rules in the library. No running allowed.
