Here's a little something I created for my 6th graders to practice finding the area of parallelograms and trapezoids.

A Trapezoid Can Never Be A Parallelogram

Students will be constructing a handheld study tool on area of various 2-dimensional figures. The figures include rectangles, squares, triangles, parallelograms, and trapezoids. There are also two practice pages that includes practice problems on calculating the area of a rectangle, square, triangle, parallelogram, and trapezoid. There are 2 versions: (1) Information is already filled in and (2) Students will fill in the information. This resource makes a great graphic organizer or handheld study tool!

Teach Trapezoid Geometry with this easy hand-drawn math infographic! Students learn what a trapezoid is, its key properties, and the main formulas for perimeter and area: P = a + b + c + d and A = 1/2(b1 + b2)h. Includes a labeled shape diagram, bases, legs, height, midsegment idea, types of trapezoids, and a worked example. Perfect for elementary math, middle school geometry, homeschool lessons, classroom anchor charts, and quick revision.
