Teach Domain with this easy hand-drawn algebra infographic! Students learn that the domain is the set of all possible input values of a function, how to check restrictions, and when to exclude values for denominators, even roots, and logarithms. Includes examples, interval notation, graph visuals, and simple notes for finding valid x-values. Perfect for middle school math, high school algebra, homeschool lessons, classroom anchor charts, functions practice, and quick revision. Save this pin to help students understand inputs, outputs, functions, and domain with confidence. #Domain #Functions #AlgebraBasics #MathForKids #MathEducation #HighSchoolMath #MiddleSchoolMath #TeachingMath #Homeschooling #StudyTips

Interval Notation Examples Domain
This handout describes interval notation and helps students make the leap from a number line to domain and range. Students must have prior knowledge of the definitions of domain and range and should be comfortable with "all real numbers such that..." notation.Students start by writing interval notation for graphed number lines. They then make the connection that the x-and y- axes are nothing more than horizontal and vertical number lines. An interactive box with 36 graphs are also included to let students practice writing interval notation. Students can use the flaps of the box to help identify the domain and range. Cards 1 - 22 are graphs often encountered in an Algebra II class. Cards 23 - 36 are encountered in Pre-Calculus.

Interval Notation, Set Builder Notation, Domain and Range of Functions in Algebra 1 Common CoreDo your students need practice with interval and set builder notation? The Algebra 1 Common Core Regents asks students to identify either the domain and range for a function, and the multiple choice is written in both set builder and interval notation. In this resource I provide an extensive number of examples to help students switch between both forms. What are intervals? A interval is the distance between any two notes. The two different types of intervals are called MELODIC (this means playing the notes separately) and HARMONIC (this means playing them at the same time). A melodic interval you can either play from low to high (which is called ascending) or from high to low (which is called descending) When labeling an interval there are two distinct steps you need to go through: 1. The distance of the interval - between the two notes. 2. The intervals quality. To indentify an interval, count the number of steps starting with the first note. The same rule applies to identifying intervals on the sheet music: count the number of lines and spaces between each note, including the line/space the current note is on. Follow me for more!
