Using your 1/4" plywood, cut a 22" x 15 1/2" shelf and a 23" x 15 1/2" door. Sand both pieces smooth and stain or paint them to match your vanity. Once dry, attach the shelf to the inside of the vanity using 1 1/4" brad nails. For the door, attach it to the front of the vanity using hinges, ensuring it opens and closes smoothly.
Add Finishing Touches
Sand the entire vanity with 220-grit sandpaper, removing any rough edges or imperfections. Apply a coat of polyurethane to protect the finish and add durability. Allow it to dry completely.
Install the Floating Makeup Vanity
Mark the location of your vanity on the wall, ensuring it's level. Using a hole saw bit, create a hole in the back of the vanity for plumbing access. Attach the vanity to the wall using wall anchors and screws, ensuring it's secure and level. Plug in your lights and enjoy your new floating makeup vanity!
