I recently spoke with CEO Matthew Briggs, who joined Four Hands in 2001. He is a major part of how the brand has evolved over the past two decades to become the powerhouse that it is today. Matthew Briggs was named CEO of Four Hands in 2009.

For Four Hands, the past decade has mostly been a runaway success story. But on this episode of the show, Briggs shares a sobering look at the headwinds ahead, ranging from out-of-control shipping costs to rampant inflation, which he believes will prove fatal for smaller businesses in the industry. Briggs joined the Four Hands team as director of operations in the fall of 2001, and quickly propelled himself through the ranks to COO in 2003, vice president in 2005 and president in 2007.

Briggs previously owned and operated a successful home furnishings retail store in Breckenridge, Colo., which partnered with Four Hands as a top retailer.
