I keep having the same problem with my bath mats - after just three or four washings, the padding on the bottom starts to flake and come away. Any suggestions for mats that won't do this? Ideally from Amazon, just for convenience, but willing to consider all options for quality. About once every year or two my wife and I have to get a new bathroom floor mat (outside of the shower) because they get discolored from mold even though we wash them.

Hi all, saw an ad for a stone/diatomaceous earth bathroom mat on instagram and got interested in them. They all claim they evaporate water faster rather than absorbing water like cloth mats, preventing mold. It makes sense at a glance, you step on it, and the water goes between the material and the mat feels dry, but is there something about these mats that make them actually evaporate water.

My advice to you is find a shower curtain you like first and then buy a bath mat that compliments that. If you want crazy, futuristic, super drying power throw a Shamwow on the floor or install some heat lamps in your ceiling.
