The 2025 Toyota Alphard PHEV combines power with efficiency thanks to its 2.5-liter plug-in hybrid powertrain. This system, which uses an Atkinson Dynamic Force cycle engine, generates a joint power of 306 hp. Surprisingly, the power comes largely from the front and rear electric motor, with figures of 180 hp and 54 hp respectively.

The Toyota Alphard's PHEV system consists of the familiar 2.5-liter Atkinson Cycle engine paired to a pair of electric motors. The result is a total system output of 302hp, 54hp more than the standard hybrid model. The dual motor arrangement also gives the Alphard (and Vellfire) PHEV all-wheel drive dubbed e-Four.
