What are HA fillers?
Juvederm and Restylane are hyaluronic acid fillers suspended in a gel carrier. This gel allows the hyaluronic acids to stay in place when injected. The hyaluronic acid works immediately by pulling in water, therefore, increasing the volume where injected. This is great for moderate to deeper wrinkles and folds of the face or areas where more volume is desired like cheeks or lips. These fillers are dissolved naturally with most lasting up to a year and some even longer.
Aesthetic medicine is a broad term for specialties that focus on altering cosmetic appearance through the treatment of conditions including scars, skin laxity, wrinkles, moles, liver spots, excess fat, cellulite, unwanted hair, skin discoloration, and spider veins. What is Sculptra?
Sculptra is a bio-stimulatory injectable that contains poly-L-lactic Acid. It helps to gradually restore facial volume. It is injected into the skin to stimulate your natural ability to create collagen over time. The polylactic acid will be biodegraded, and replaced with a network of new collagen after several months. Treatment areas could include the cheeks, jawline, nasolabialfolds, temples and cheeks. Most initially will require three treatments over a couple of months and then just one treatment annually. These results can last longer than two years.
What is Kybella, exactly?
