Fragrant Apple Filling
Apples are clearly the essential ingredients. You can use cooking apples (or apples for baking), but in reality, any type will be OK as long as you are fine with either a mushier or chunkier apple filling. Additionally, if you select tangy apple, you may need to add more sugar to stabilize the tart taste. However when I add sweet apples, I often totally leave out the sugar in the apple combination.
Nevertheless, cinnamon for me is a needed component in the apple part of the crumble. One tsp ground cinnamon guarantees the dessert (along with your whole house!) will certainly scent lovely. You can also include some cloves to your apple dessert for some added taste.
