Dailymotion Injectors

Testing an MRSS Feed

You can follow the process in the Injector Guide to create and test an injector, using the sample MRSS feed as the source and our dedicated Dailymotion account for injector testing as the destination.

The sample feed is a basic MRSS/XML file compatible with our injector stack, containing two videos and their category for migration.

You can customize this file by following these steps:
  • Access the /injectors/resources/ folder in the GCP dailymotion-support-sandbox bucket.
  • Upload the media elements you want to use in your customized MRSS feed to this folder such as videos and thumbnails.
  • Download the MRSS/XML file, and use a code editor (Brackets or Atom) to update the content sources.
  • Save the file with a unique name, and upload it to the /injectors/resources/ folder in the bucket.
  • Once uploaded, the URL of your file can be used as the source location for a new injector.
  • Last step before creating the injector, you will have to test your feed in Docker Partner by mapping the properties and get your path ready to be used in the injector creation process.

Next, visit the Injector Tool (or the CloudAdmin Tool if you need to test using this method) and follow the injector creation process outlined in the documentation.

Testing a XLSX template

You can follow the process in the Injector Guide to create and test an injector, using the template available in the FAQ and our dedicated Dailymotion account for injector testing as the destination.

Please note that there's 2 templates available in FAQ, a simple one and an advanced one with more properties to filled out.

You can customize this file by following these steps:
  • Access the /injectors/resources/ folder in the GCP dailymotion-support-sandbox bucket.
  • Upload your excel template already filled out with the properties selected.
  • Once uploaded, the URL of your file can be used as the source location for a new injector.
  • Last step before creating the injector, you will have to test your file in Docker Partner by mapping the categories and get your path ready to be used in the injector creation process.

Next, visit the Injector Tool (or the CloudAdmin Tool if you need to test using this method) and follow the injector creation process outlined in the documentation.

Testing a Youtube migration - Takeout process

You can follow the process in the Guru card here and the FAQ article here to create and test a Takeout injector, using our Youtube channel as the source and our dedicated Dailymotion account for injector testing as the destination.

Remember, you will have to use the Takeout tool by Google, link here while being connected to the same Google account of the Youtube channel (make sure your DM account is not connected !)

For the export in our Dropbox account, you can find the credentials in our LastPass in the Shared-Tool-Support sub-folder.

Visit the Injector Tool (or the CloudAdmin Tool) and follow the injector creation process outlined in the documentation.

After Testing

After the injector testing is complete, please disable or use the deactivate_at_end param from the list here on the injector.
