The BMW Group is now sending out a clear message by switching to HVO 100 for the initial filling of all diesels made in Germany. 'HVO' stands for hydrotreated vegetable oil, and '100' indicates its 100% purity. HVO 100 has the potential to reduce CO 2 e emissions by around 90 percent compared with fossil-based diesel.

"When it comes to climate protection, every ton of CO 2 saved. Starting January 1, 2025, BMW will fuel all new diesel cars produced in Germany with HVO100, a renewable diesel alternative made from biological residues and waste materials. The BMW Group is converting the initial filling of all diesel models produced in Germany to HVO 100. Neste MY Renewable Diesel is the HVO 100 fuel used at BMW Group plants, Munich, Dingolfing, Regensburg and Leipzig, which produce annually more than 50% of BMW Group's Diesel.
